We’ve all done it. We have all gazed dreamily at the glossy spa pictures in magazines like Conde Nast. Well I have anyway. And Iv’e looked at pictures of baths with rose petals in it and said to myself – I want that, I want to be in that picture getting pampered, sinking into a state of relaxation and bliss.
Well this was me at Sukko Cultural Spa in Phuket Thailand last year! Iv’e never seen anything so enticing and magical. A bath built for 2 (unfortunatley my ex was in it) filled with milk – YES Milk! essential oils and of course rose petals. And ever since I can’t stop thinking about it. Milk is a gentle exfoliate and has a very nourishing effect on the skin and is more beneficial than moisturizer! Milk will leave your skin with a baby soft glow.
But hey who has the time and money to go to a Spa and get pampered? Well now you can do it at home! Take a trip to the pharmacy/drug store and buy some essential oils, Rose and Neroli are the best for your face and body. And the smell combined is enough to tip you over the edge of ecstasy! If you can’t afford Rose or Neroli buy yourself some Rose scented bath sea salts – their cheap and some Jojoba oil.
I bet you are asking yourself what are the benefits of Essential oils? In this case Neroli. Neroli has a sedative and calming effect to the nervous system and can be beneficial for most stress relating disorders. Just by inhaling deeply can have a relaxing effect on your mind & body. And adding it to your bath – imagine how relaxed your whole body would feel? Neroli is paticularly good on senstive skin and has a rejuvenating effect on your skin.
Rose oil is amazing as well. It is also a sedative, is an anti-depressant, anti-spasmodic, calmative and lets face it the smell is pure happiness. Oh and if you can have a ‘do it yourself’ pedicure your body will be thanking you!!
